Tried using the update executable (product version 1.1.8.1) and still getting the same thing. The very first connection from a windows 8 machine comes through ok but then any other connections from the same windows 8 machine fail with the following errors.
RFB protocol error: unknown message type ...
After more 1 000 000 (one million) views on forum for 1.5.0.x development versions... and 1.6.0.0 version

No i am using a set password.
It seems to work on the first connection i make but then if i close and make another connection to the same viewer i get this error.
Second time trying to connect i get the error: RFB protocol error: bad xrle data

I am getting a protocol error when doing a reverse connection from a 1.1.8.0 server to RealVNC Viewer on listening on a Mac. Is this due to the above issue?

Hi All,
Does anyone know of a way to get singleclick to look at a URL for the helpdesk.txt file before opening?
That way any changes i make will be available straight away without compiling another executable.
