Getting SecureVNCplugin to work with SC...can it be done?

Post by forumator »

I can't seem to get the SecureVNCplugin to work with SCVNC, specifically SCPrompt2009. I've tried renaming the file to msrc4plugin.dsm but still get the same problem, which is that I always get the message:

"You have specified an encryption plugin, however this connection is unencrypted! Do you want to continue?"

And if I do continue, the program works normally but of course without encryption. Anybody know what to do to get this plugin to work? Not using a repeater by the way.

securevncplugin.dsm build v2.2.4.0

can't support winvnc 1.0.8.2 and older.
you need the unofficial winvnc based 1.0.8.2 from Adam

UltraVNC 1.0.9.6.1 (built 20110518)
OS Win: xp home + vista business + 7 home
only experienced user, not developer

You'd need to change the winvnc (the server, NOT the viewer) within SCPrompt.

I've asked a similar question to JDaus (SCPrompt developer) about swapping the winvnc.exe in SCPrompt (for me it's to revert to 1.0.8.0 to fix repeater support) but I don't think he's answered whether it should/would work.

Edit: Looks like he was already helping you?
