DSM MSRC4Plugin.dsm doesn't work for normal USER accounts

Post by Nurbin »

I am glad that you created this nice plugin it works good if the server is being run under a Administrator account but not under a basic user account when it is run as a service. I have set the default settings and user settings but each time I try to set a basic users Server Key Location(Service) nothing happens without this the plugin loads nothing and I receive an error. I believe it is because the plugin is coded to reference the key:
My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3\DSMPlugins\MSRC4\KeyFile
It seems by default basic users don't have the ability to access this key. Is there a way to change where the Plugin is looking?
Maybe under HKEY_CURRENT_USER FOR THE USER SETTINGS?

Just a thought if this was achieved ultr@VNC could be used as a useful to tool for HelpDesk situations.

The registry key is opened to modify, not read only.

dialog the program really shouldn't need modify access anyway.
