UltraVNC 1.02 / Plugins DOS security exploit!

Post by bnc »

Hello everyone,

Why is the multiple-connection issue seen as a limitation and not a security exploit? If you have a uvnc server on the internet and you're vnc'd in, your server can be crashed and/or user disconnected 100% of the time.

Frankly, I don't care about multiple connections, I just don't want uvnc behaving like pcanywhere. At the very least, is there a way to block the second incomming connection. The "multi viewer connections" option doesn't stop this from happening, btw.

It's not a security measure...

If you are using a DSM Plugin, it is 'normal' that the first connection is dropped by the incoming one: the dsmplugin system on server side only supports one connection at a time, by design. We are working on this issue and it's close to be solved.
But it shouldn't crash the server...
