Automatic Login to the UVNC-Server

Post by Volleyknaller »

Hello @all

Is it possible to transfer the clients username/password parameters for an automatic login at the UVNC-server?

It might be done through an switch in the ms-logon
configuration. It would help very much, because now I
have to type my username/password twice.
First at the UVNC-Client and second at the server I want
to log in.

Best regards
Christian

I'll second that. NTLM pass-through authentication would be very useful. But it might not be a trivial exercise to implement it.

Hmm, not trivial is maybe an understatement here
At the moment I have no idea how to implement this.
Remember: VNC just transfers "pictures".
It has very little knowlegde of the contents or semantics of all these windows and dialog boxes. :(

Thirding a request for this. Like the OP all of our servers are locked when not in use so currently require 2 logins to get onto them. Automatically handling the first challenge via the domain would be fantastic.

Maybe I misunderstood the original request.
It is possible to to have the current credentials forwarded for the UltraVNC MSLogon authentication.
This requires some changes in the VNC protocol and considerable work to implement another MSLogon.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm after. It's a small thing (maybe not on the coding side) but as I generally VNC to various servers 20-30 times per day, it would make my everyday life a lot easier!

Here's hoping something can be implemented. :)

I'm aware that RealVNC Enterprise Edition is able to do it.
But this is not open source!

It's a lot of work to implement this because it requires a complete rewrite.
And it won't be compatible with MS-Logon I or II.
