NTLM - how to connect to VNC WITHOUT DOMAIN\USERNAME + PASS

Post by halpro »

Hello VNC experts!

Can someone explain to me in details how to avoid putting domain\username + password in VNC Viewer window everytime I connect to remote VNC service? It is VERY stupid to do specify logon information if I am already on the domain... :|

Thanks!

Sorry, this is currently not possible.

It requires a change/addition in the VNC protocol.
It would be incompatible to the current implementation.

information only
actual project winRDP based on xrdp can allow NTLM transparent authentication, single sign on (if I'm not wrong)
(for test alpha stage, only with VNC authentication and no printer and no audio support )

http://sc.uvnc.com/v2/winvnc+rdp.zip
(alpha stage, no audio, no printer don't use on production computer)

(xrdp?)+lzo+raknet+irrlicht over UDP (fastest data transmission)
[topic=4424][/topic]

all are cross plateforme (*nix/win)
xrdp = client Remote Desktop Protocol
lzo = real time compression
raknet = easy networking
irrlich = fast 3D graphic rendering over WAN/LAN

Why can't it just be accepted as a command line parameter? i.e /user:username /password:password

There are plans to have single-sign-on in the next version.
As already mentioned: this will be incompatible with the current implementation.

I'm not sure, needs to be tested.
You can test it by yourself (without UltraVNC :wink: )
If it's possible to access e.g. a share on the other computer without authenticating again, then SSO with UltraVNC should also work.
