MSlogon text file

Post by jumpgate2 »

HI,

Is there anyway to stop the server generating the MSlogon.txt log, as it has been found to record username and password if authentication fails.

Obviously we dont want a txt file containing username and password easily accessable to anyone who knows where to lookf for it.

mslogon.txt does record the username, but not the password.
Which version of UltraVNC do you use?
You should upgrade to the current one.

HI ,

I am using version 1.1.0.1

Is there a newer version to this?

this particlar PC most of the log contained just the username as you described, however there was a line that said authentication failed, and gave the username and password.

Any suggestions would be greatly recieved

I currently use http://doc.uvnc.com/QueryIfNoLogon/winvnc.exe
I tested both successful and not successful connection attempts.
There is no password written to mslogon.log.

Hi thanks for your time, maybe it was just a one off that may never happen again.
