Newbie needs help

Post by larryg »

Since I have no experience with SC, and am flying blind here I'm not sure if this is even a problem. I create the ***.EXE - download it to desktop. When I execute - it flashes and puts itself in the systray. By all appearances it is running but am unable to connect to it. I was assuming that it was supposed to open GUI displaying the logo and a couple of options. What am I doing wrong ? :|

SC connects to a listening viewer. If you're running the executable, you have become the server (PC to be controlled) and are automatically trying to reach the listening viewer, wherever it is you told the SC generator that would be.

For what it's worth, I gave up on using SingleClick years go, but recent modifications like SCPrompt and ChunkVNC seem easier to deal with.

Hi,
I too at first was a bit confused with what I was doing with SC.

http://www.uvnc.com/addons/singleclick.html

Did you follow that guide? Have you verified the listener has port 5550 (unless you specified a different port) forwarded to the listening machine? What OS are you running?

Peace
Sean
