SC connection errors

Post by jdhenshall »

Alright, guys bear with me. I have the bare minimum of networking knowledge necessary to map network drives, and such. I followed the tutorial and created the SC EXE file. However, when a server attempts to connect to me, on my end, the Viewer says it cannot establish a connection because either the encryption plug-ins don't match, the protocols are different, or there is a "bad" connection.

I am not using encryption and do not wish to.

According to CanYouSeeMe.org, when I am running UVNC Viewer in Listening Mode, it can see my service.

I have opened port 5500 on my Windows Firewall and on my router's firewall.

I'm trying to figure out what I'm missing that is preventing this from working. I'm kinda thinking something on my end might be blocking the connection. The viewer is running on Windows 7 x64, so I dunno if that is what the "protocols" are different. I can use regular UVNC on my local network just fine (which is why I think it is something blocking the connection).

Suggestions for this pathetic n00b?
