UVNC SC behind SBS2008 Server

Post by belusami »

Hi i used UVNC One click to support my customers. SC was always listening to port 5501. Everything worked fine since i put the standalone win7 Pro pc into my sbs2008 Domain.

Since then i could not connect outside anymore? Or better the clinet could not connect to my SC PC.

For testing i installed the Winvnc Programm on the server but with no luck.

Its like the server blogs all ports.

ANy tips ?

Greeting mike

you need to open port 5501 TCP (not UDP) you specifed to your SC
and open incoming/ingoing port to windows firewall of windows 7

try disable windows firewall for test,
if success, this the firewall config issue.
if fail, ip adress or hostname wrong somewhere.

enable firewall you need it. but if you have firewall inside router. you can disable the windows firewall at all.
then
windows 7 have firewall for both side (out and in)

if you use old sc, is fail under win7, because win7 need signed exe
update your SC for the vista/7, otherwise, you won't need update. you need to run as computer administror

hi redge,

thanks for your tips,

I already disabled the FW.

I dont know why but the ports 5500 - 5501 seemed to be blocked or perhaps used by the sbs.

For testing i changed the port to 5800 in the SC Tool and in my Control PC.
I changed the port forwarding in my router from 5501 to 5800 and
surprise, it works.

perhaps this helps someone in future.....

greetings
mike
