how conect with dyndns?

Post by jdearriba »

all run ok in LAN conection
[HOST]
Conection LAN
-connect 192.168.1.11:5500 -noregistry

But in internet it don't work
[HOST]
Conection internet
-connect myhost.dydns.org:5500 -noregistry

in the modem i have mapped the ports
incoming port 5500
outgoing port 5500
ip 192.168.1.11
and this must work because i have a little ftp server that works fine.

what can i do?

If you PING myhost.dyndns.org, to what IP address does it resolve? When you PING <your_host_name_here>.dyndns.org it should say PING reply 192.168.1.11. You might have to do a flush of the DNS cache prior to the PING to make sure it resolves the IP to the correct address. To do this in Windows; open a command prompt and type IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS.

In you DynDNS configuration, did you put 192.168.1.11 as the address under Host Services > Info column?

thank you for your answer, but....

I am using my neighbor's network for this test
PING myhost.dyndns.org say PING reply 84.59.48.204 a diferent IP every time i reset the router.

Where is "Host Services > Info column" ?
I searched this that you said me, on all sides and can not find it

I test myhost.dydns.org whith port 5500 in a Forwarding tester page and said that port is open.

I am testing from my neighbor's network to mine. And the PING say the external ip of my router (before I did the flushdns).

DynDNS configuration Host Services > Info column? I do not know what this is.

thanks again
