Problems with Upload and creating custom logo SSCIII

Post by bcurran »

I am having problems with the upload process and creating custom logo with SCIII.

I create support.zip file from>>

background.bmp
helpdesk.txt (modified per instructions)
icon1.ico
icon2.ico
logo.bmp
winvnc.exe

1- The compiled file (support.exe) brings up the client support window, but with no logo at all. (I've tried numerous bmp logo files -- only the original logo.bmp works!)
2- NUMEROUS times, I have downloaded someone elses client file, when I upload different file names. OOPS!

Thanks for your help--

The generation can take several seconds and when you use a common name for the zip like custom.zip, support.zip,ultravnc.zip you can download a previous file in the second it take to generate yours.

Rudi --
I tired using a a filename of test.zip. Same problem. the download was someone elses .exe.

This seems like a huge problem.
How do I get around this?

Thanks -

The cleanup of the download folder is manual, done.

But already back 8 generations, looks quite buzy today :)

If you pm me the filename, i can check if something went wrong

Seems you have Hide known file extension on your PC.
Then when you added the extension...

What you uploaded was
yyyyyyyyy.zip.zip
content
enter.bmp.bmp
helpdesk.txt.txt
icon1.ico.ico
....

Wil never work this way, you get the default back, files in zip are all ignored.

Rudi,

1- That was it on the weird file downloads ---Thanks for researching this!

2- Problkem #2 with the "enter.bmp" still not solved.
I'm still not getting a logo. I created a .bmp that is 196x181 and is only black and white text. (104k)

Is this too big a file?

Please install 7zip
http://sourceforge.net/projects/sevenzip/

This allow you to extract the downloaded exe back to files.
The online creator only make an self extracting archiev of several files.
If you extract the files in a folder you first can manual test by replacing
removing adding files in the folder. Just execute the winvnc.exe in that folder to see the results.

Possible the creator you use require the logo.bmp.
