Will SCIII be better for me?

Post by Leaskie »

Hi all,

I have been away from this site for a while and i see that there has been quite a few updates. Now here is what i am currently doing...

We have a support tool that is bundled with sc.exe that our clients can download from us. This basically has a hard coded ip address to our repeater that is siting on the internet. We then connect our viewers to the repeater on our side and thus we can usually connect up to the client. Sometimes this doesnt allways work. Maybe becuase of the client setup. Anyway here is the diagram...

CLIENT > sc.exe:443 > repeater:443 - repeater:5901 < viewer < ME

We are not using SSL for encryption over 443, we have just used the port because normally this is open on the clients end.

With the way we currently have our setup, is there a reason why i should start to use sc3?

Thanks all...

Not now,
SCIII is still to UNSTABLE.

With SCIII this is possible
CLIENT > sc.exe:443 >https proxy> repeater:443 < <https proxy<viewer < ME

A PC with no direct internet connection but with access to a https or socks proxy should also be able to connect to the viewer
Same for the viewer, you only need access to a proxy.

Still a lot of testing to do, but first need to change SCII so that we can use
a connection module (SSL /NAT2NAT)
I want that the module try different methods, if one fails, try next...
Can take some time...

Hi...

Thanks for the reply. That looks very interesting as it could probably solve some of the connection issues i have with some of the clients (fancy routing/firewall/proxy) issues.

I shall keep a check on this.

Cheers
