ThinLinc Remote Desktop Server

Post by aeneby »

Hi

I stumbled across this forum recently and thought I'd take the opportunity to make a shameless plug for a TigerVNC-based product called ThinLinc, which I have been personally involved with for a number of years. It is mostly open-source with some proprietary components, and works by tunneling VNC traffic over a secure SSH tunnel from a number of supported client platforms to a Linux-based desktop server. I'm hoping this might be interesting to a number of forum users, since it is pretty easy to get up and running, and is free/unrestricted for up to 5 concurrent users.

The developer of the product is the Swedish company Cendio, and their website can be found at https://www.cendio.com where you can also download the server and clients.

I'd be happy to answer any questions anyone might have, otherwise feel free to download and have a play around.

Cheers!
