i am a newbie and was wondering how I connect to a Mac?

hey guys, i would really appreciate some help with this. i am a newbie and know a little but not everything about computers. i have a windows vista laptop and my girlfriend has a macbook. she just went to college 4 hours away and i want to connect with her to help her with her computer. i have her IP address and tried doing the Javaviewer remote control over the internet but it wouldnt work. does she need to download something also? or did i just not setup VNC right? or what am i doing wrong? thanks so much.

I don't think the JAVA viewer will work with MAC. That is a special extension in uVNC and MAC OS X only has the standard VNC server built in.

IF you both have SKYPE she can show you her desktop. If you both had MACS you could use iCHAT.

You can use Chunk VNC to setup a support centre and let her connect to it. You can use LogMeIn's free personal version.
