Which Programs

Post by sussertown »

I succesfully sent a shortcut to another computer and used UltraVNC as a remote helper.

But I'm confused. I've read a few sets of instructions. In order to allow me to help the other party, even with their shortcut, I had to also load the viewer on my machine, start it, and select LISTENER although I had no way to tell if it was switched on.

I presume this is the correct methodology.

Now, if I want to come to my computer from another remote macnine I evidently need to run one or more of these programs on the remote machine. Is that correct and which ones would I have to load there?

Hopefully this is a simple question, but I have not yet seen it simply answered. Thank you. The remote system I set up to help another person worked fast and simply once I found my way, guessing, through the mud.

Thank you.

the other machine, which is the one that needs assistance simply gets a shortcut. I have both the UltraVNC and the viewer. I turn on the viewer and then wait for the request. Does that sound correct? Is that it?
