VNC authentication slow and connection failed after few min

Post by gpasak »

We use VNC Ultr@VNC 1.0.2 with MS logon. The server is on a Windows Nt Workstation 4.0 behind a router. The authentication is very slow (30-40 sec.). We use the DSM NoRegPlugin with 40bit encryption (more is not possible).
After few minutes the connection break. The same prolems are inside the lan. Any suggestions?

***** Thanks for the great product guys! *****

The router is connected to WAN over a ADSL (PPPoE LineUp Speed: 160 kbps/Down Speed: 864 kbps). We use DyDns for Wan-IP. Viewer on different Xp and Vista machines with WAN over ADSL or cable with same problems.

The Vnc authentication login open in one second. After you confirm it last 30 seconds.

Then you can work for a few minutes - suddenly the connection between viewer and server shutdown.
Normally we can reconnect. Sometimes a restart for the service is necessarily.

Is your connection between the servers and viewers rock solid??

I only use the higher encryptions but I am not sure if NT 4.0 server is supported with version 1.02. I would try to use the connection without the plugins and see if it works. Could be a bug with the plugin or server with NT 4.0

I think so! I check this today again and deactivate the encryption (MSRC4Plugin-NoReg).

The NT-machine is connected to the LAN with (its to far from LAN) Single Mode - 100 Base FX with media-converters to 100 Base TX.

The connection is ok! The cpu time for vnc-service is very high. To disable the encryption and ms logon helps nothing (only a little time saving for the authentication).

The mirror video driver does not support NT is this correct!
Should i try anything to bring cpu down?

well the mirror driver would do it but it has to be >2000 operating system

You can change the properties on how the information is sent.

Uncheck poll full screen

check system hook driver

check low accuracy ( Turbo Speed)
