"Failed to connect to server" help?

UltraVNC forum members,

I am running version 1.0.5.6 and trying to connect to target machines. I get the "failed to connect to server" error only on some of the target machines. I can connect to the other machines fine. The targets are not running any firewall. What is interesting is that a telnet session to port 5900 on the target(s) will fail, but a telnet session to 5901 works. The working VNC machines will reply to a telnet session to port 5900.

Any thoughts?

if winvnc has auto port selected, it check if port 5900 is in use.
If port is in use it use port 5900+1

+Check if some other app is using this port
+Check if you don't have the port manual selected.

cmd
netstat -ab
should be able to show port usage
