File Transfer function is not working

Post by kh »

UltraVNC 1.0.9.5 Release installed
But when I try File Transfer, it prompt below message
The connected VNC Server doesn't support UltraVNC File Transfer

Any setting required on VNC Server or feature missing during installation?

Ultra VNC 1.0.9.5 already installed on both local and remote
Because my remote (company desktop) is guard by access rights. and I already inform administrator release access rights for my account can access all those UltraVNC path.

On before, without grant access rights on those UltraVNC path, i only can remote login, but nothing i can do, the screen like frozen.

Now , I can remote login , and remote access my desktop , type keyboard and mouse moving smoothly.
Now , just File Transfer function 's not working. I still thinking what's missing.

maybe he locked file transfer by security policies
maybe admin disabled file transfer ?
you can not file transfer if you are not logged in on remote computer
(not related to vnc password but the user logged in)

what the OS at both side and 32 or 64bit ?

kd,
if you have your problem solved maybe you can help me with the file transfer.
I just installed VNC and everything is working fine except I can not figure out how to tranfer file from Server to Client and vice versa. Is the file file transfer suppose to work like in Windows i.e. either by dragging the files or copy/paste?
I checked the file transfer checkbox but can not drag the files across.
Thx
Kris

Click the eye icon in the top left corner of your viewer window (the same icon you'd double-click to close the window) and then click File Transfer.

Thx B.
That's where they hid it!
Still I couldn't make it work.
When I click on the File Transfer it pops up a msg: "the connected VNC server doesn't support the file transfer".
The server is setup for File transfer though.
In the Input/File Transfer tab:
File transfer Enable checkbox is checked and so is "User Impersonation" checkbox.
Am I missing something here?
Thx

If you're running the same version of UltraVNC on both sides then I don't know what to suggest. (There's often a problem transferring files between DIFFERENT versions.)

Oh, try it with "user impersonation" off -- the logged in user may not have enough rights.
