IdleTimeout does not work if taskmgr is open

Post by Pemdas »

Hi,

I am not sure if this is the intended behavior or not.

I am running 1.0.9.5 version for server and viewer.
I have set the idleTimeout in ini file to be 10 seconds.

When my vnc server is running, I opened my computer and then from the viewer I tried to connect to VNC server. Everything works fine. After no activity for 10 seconds on serer. the client connection is terminated as expected.

I tried the same thing with task mgr open this time with performance tab selected, the idle timeout did not kick in after 10 seconds.

I though idle timeout would be factor mouse or key board movement and not something changed on the screen or still screen.

Am I missing some configuration or this is the intended behavior?

let me know,
taskmanager is always update, refresh there window, right ?

look the line status bar always updated (bottom of taskmanager),

so it normal that never close connection
taskmgr.exe always (default) update.

Just tested it, it close after 10 sec as soon I was doing
windows task manager ... menu ... View... update speed... Pause
10 sec later, it close connection, otherwise with default settings (normal update) it never never close the connection as awaited :-)

no activity in this case mean:
NO server screen update activity
not keyboard/mice input

Anyway, you request could be very interesting and very easy to add
if no user input local or/and remote for safety, right ?

NoInput=
0=never disconnect (default)
1=winvnc only
2=vncviewer only as read/write (vncviewer viewonly will never do any activity)
3=both

will read if not 0, look IdleTimeout=1>
then disconnect following next rule of Locksetting=

you can post to feature request and would be proposal for V2...
