I've got exactly the same problem and am looking for a solution. Can anybody help?
Thanx in advance.

Re: Firewall (kaspersky)
Of course there's a solution: USE A FIREWALL THAT WORKS.
I think Kaspersky is the best antimalware around, but if even after adjustments their firewall won't let you use a normal signed application like UltraVNC, that firewall is FATALLY BROKEN.
Use another one (or disable the firewall in your suite in favor of the Windows firewall).
And/or just report the problem to Kaspersky and ask them to fix it.

Re: Firewall (kaspersky)
I've never understood why people would even need anything but the default firewall. After all it's a personal firewall and in that sense any ISV-firewall is just as good as the built-in one.B wrote:Use another one (or disable the firewall in your suite in favor of the Windows firewall).

Re: Firewall (kaspersky)
I am still quite fond of the old ZoneAlarm 2.x, before it got endlessly bloated with unstable crap.
The advantage was that it was quite nice to be alerted when particular programs were requesting outbound Internet access; it was often surprising what programs were "phoning home", and to where, and when.
But other than that, yes, for inbound firewalling the "built-in" one (and/or your little NAT router) does just fine in the security department.
