Please tell me how to cancel your Ultr@VNC Server Property Screen from popping up on my screen every 1 second, "cancel" does not work. I do not need this service, I don't know why all the sudden your popup message is on my screen everytime I turn on my computer, I was fearfully looking around your pop-up and must have pushed a wrong button. Please also tell me how to cancel that.
Re: Cancel!
If it's regular UltraVNC, it would have only been installed by you, or by a program you allowed to get installed. Hopefully this is not a malware situation. If you don't need UltraVNC, you can uninstall it normally.
There's no service or subscription associated with UltraVNC. It's a free and open source program that you run on your own computers at your discretion.

Re: Cancel!
Thanks for your response. I can see about uninstalling the program, but I did not install the program- it just seems to be the intial page trying to get me to use it, and I accidentally hit ONE button that brought up the Ultr@VNCnet Server Propert Page which will not go away, either by hitting "cancel" or the "X" - it just returns in two seconds. The only recourse is to minimize it. This seems to be a problem with the Ultranet popup screen, hopefully not malware, but I do have a security program. Also, the initial screen popping up on my computer everytime I turn it on - I've already said I don't want this program, how do I get this to go away??!
Re: Cancel!
No. There is no magical "initial page trying to get you to use it" that just appears on your machine out of nowhere -- it sounds as if it very much IS installed on your machine, whether by you or more indirectly. Go to your Add/Remove programs and uninstall it. With your browser closed, no program should be generating "popup screens" if that program is not already installed. I suggest you try some antivirus scans such as http://housecall.trendmicro.com
Good luck.
Good luck.

Open a command prompt, and excute this statement:jackson wrote:the initial screen popping up on my computer everytime I turn it on - I've already said I don't want this program, how do I get this to go away??!
Code: Select all
sc.exe stop uvnc_service
Then you can do what B recommended ... uninstall it, scan if any virus, etc.
Re: Cancel!
(That will stop the service for your current Windows session only; if you want to prevent it from reappearing at the next boot, you'd need to disable the service too, e.g. via the control panel. But if you just uninstall it you probably won't need to bother with any of that.)
