Lame - What does uVNC do?

Post by caffeine »

I know this is lame... Sorry in advance. I sit in front of our WinXP box and my wife sits in front of our Kubuntu box. I want to do two things:

1. I'd like to log into Kubuntu from WinXP with my own personal KDE session.
2. I'd like to log into Kubuntu from WinXP and share my wife's KDE session so I can help her with things.

Can VNC do both things?

No, VNC doesn't log in to unique X terminal server sessions. It just takes control of the screen. So it should still do what you want.

I'm not so sure that limitation exists with Karl's x11vnc. I seem to remember there was a port for each session.
