My computers running the UltraVNC server are Windows 7 and Windows 8, but I have this problem regardless of Windows version.
I am using UltraVNC 1.1.9.3 for the Viewer, and the remote computers are running UltraVNC 1.1.9.0 for the Server.
As soon as I start using a browser (almost always happens with Chrome and a lot of the time with Internet Explorer), the Viewer stops responding and will I have to stop the Viewer forcefully.
When I log back into the remote machine, I am asked for the password, and the connection appears to be established, but the screen is grey and I have no control over the remote computer.
The remote computer is running fine, but in order to control the computer again, the VNC Server needs to be restarted, which can also be accomplished by restarting the remote computer.
When this happens, I also lose the ability to send commands like CTRL-ALT-DEL included in the toolbar buttons of the Viewer.
Since I don't always have someone available at the remote location to restart the computer, I wanted to know if there was some other way to restart the remote computer or VNC Server.
Also, is this a known bug that other people are having issues with?

Re: VNC server quits responding after using Chrome or Explor
I updated the UltraVNC Server to 1.1.9.3, and the same thing happens.

Can you try to findout if a specific encoder is the cause. The (!) button show it in a window.
Looks like when you start a browser, both browser and vnc are competing for bandwidth, possible
this force a encoder switch.
If you have the viewer set to AUTO, the encoders are selected based on the current speed of vnc.
Can you test with selecting a fix encoder instead of auto.

What encoder should I select when logging in? Anything as long as it is not set to auto?
