Windows Live Mail - Application Error

Post by kirinsha »

Hi,

I have a problem about Windows Live Mail 2012 installed on Windows 7 OS (32bit / UltraVNC 1.1.9.6 Server side).
I connected to this PC by UltraVNC, and started / ended Windows Live Mail.
Then, the following logs are outputted after a while.

My coworker did the same thing and checked ’Appcrash’.
(*I am not checking this phenomenon. )

Would someone teach me a solution? :|

Thenk you.

looks like livemail doesn't like hooking.
One of the messages reffer vnchook.dll

Try to use vnc without system hooking ( this diable the use of vnchook.dll),
but it also make vnc less responsive as the hook gibe hints about the changed screen positions.
This is a server option ( poll)

Rudi,

Thank you for the reply.
My problem was solved.

There is an additional question.
'poll full screen' is validated on my PC.
In this case, is it better not to use vnchooks.dll?

I read the following topic.

poll full screen ON + vnchook ON/OFF

The hook is able to detect menu/submenu/window titlebar etc... changes.
If poll+hook is used you the detected items are faster displayed then when they need to be detected
by screen polling. For video it doesn't make a difference.

Always use poll full screen + hook
unless some software is protected against message hooking.

Rudi,

Thanks for your reply!

I would like to know the influence of 'vnchook OFF' in use of UltraVNC.

I understand it as follows,

'poll full screen OFF + vnchook ON' :
Detected items are displayed slowly.

'poll full screen ON + vnchook ON' :
Detected items are displayed fastly.
But 'Live Mail' (and some software protected against hooking) resists hook.

'poll full screen ON + vnchook OFF' :
Change of {menu, submenu, title, etc...} may be unable to be detected.
(In my environment, it seems to be detectable. )

Please let me know if I understand this correctly.

Thank you.
