ultravnc settings

Post by asterix2008 »

Hello, sorry for my bad English. I am trying to install ultravnc on a network composed by win7 64bit computers. What I need is:
the user to whom I need to connect must launch the vnc server, set a password and accept my connection, connection logged in a file. Apparentlyno problems, but... My users are not members of administrators group, when they lsunch ultravnc server the program says that no password has ben set and that they cannot set one. Problems writing in ultravnc.ini? I changed acl, but no success... can you help me? Another question: old versions of ultravnc used registry to store settings, is it right shat I read, newest versions only use uultravnc.ini or I misunderstood skmething? Thank you very much.

yes, all is now in ultravnc.ini

Authentication.
If users are no admin users, you need to install ultravnc in a user folder and run as it as application.
Program files is a protected folder and it would be a bad thing to grand permission to non admin users to this folder.

If running as service, an admin user must preset password.
