Windows 10 Firewall and Ultravnc server
Windows 10 Firewall and Ultravnc server
I have been installing and using ultravnc client and server since Windows XP without problems. Now after installing the software on my first Windows 10 PC can only connect to it from another PC in my home network after turning off the Windows 10 firewall. In previous windows versions ultravnc servers apparently made the exceptions in the firewalls automatically. I do not want to keep the firewall down permanently. I searched for a list of programs to grant exceptions but could not find one. How can I solve this problem?

Re: Windows 10 Firewall and Ultravnc server
When you start winvnc.exe manual, doesn't the firewall ask permission.
Runing as service, the firewall can't ask permission, because it run in a seperate desktop.
You can also add the exe to the firewall
The installer still have the code in it to add the firewall rules for vnc, but it depend on the windows 10 settings.
As administartor
firewall -> allow an app or feature through windows firewall
button Allow another app
