Command-line VncViewer Syntax for Repeater

Post by Charles »

I know this has been asked before, but after more than half an hour of searching I still can't find anything that helps me. :-(

I'm running 16c and finally decided to modify some desktop shortcuts to work with a repeater I've got running on another network. I can't seem to get the command-line options to work right, though -- most ways I try it, the viewer attempts to connect directly to the "internal" address rather than the address of the proxy.

Can someone post the complete "preferred" syntax for VNCVIEWER when using the repeater, including syntax for specifying ports?

Thanks!

Something funny's going on here! I'm hoping that I'm just doing something obviously stupid and that someone else will catch it...

I played with my command line some more, taking out other options, and making it resemble your example. Here's the command line in the .lnk (IP addresses have been tweaked slightly, "names have been changed to protect the innocent"...)

"C:\Program_Files\UltraVNC\vncviewer.exe"_-proxy_206.192.117.24:0 _10.1.1.11:11

(spaces replaced by underscores for clarity)
...and I've tried variations of the proxy port, i.e. 5900, leaving it off, etc. as well as about every other purmutation I can think of.

When executed, here's what you see via netstat:
Active Connections
Proto Local Address Foreign Address State
TCP AMD3400:2118 10.1.1.11:5911 SYN_SENT

It's totally ignoring the whole proxy thing.

The version of my vncviewer is 1.0.0.15 (5/1/2004 4:39PM)

I'm confused! :?
