Password not recognized until logged in.

Post by mmiller »

I'm running UltraVNC v1.07 and have VNC Server running as a Service that starts automatically; my OS is WinXP Pro. When I first start up the machine, it stops at the initial WinXP logon screen, as expected. I want to be able to VNC into the machine at this point and login. The problem is, the password I have setup for VNC Server is not recognized until after I have actually logged into the target machine. Once I do actually login to the machine itself, the VNC password I setup then works and I can access the machine remotely.

Is there some default system password that VNC uses when it's run as a service? If so, how do I change it, or at least know what it is?

Look for "Show Default Settings" shortcut (Start Menu > Programs/Applications > UltraVNC > Ultr@VNC Server > Show Default Settings).

That was it. Thanks for the help.

BTW, what is the "MSRC4 plugin" for?
