I'm SO STUPID! Help!!!!

Post by poldone »

Don't ask me why or how but I checked BOTH the Disable Ignore local&remote keyboard and pointer.
Now I can connect but I can't input anything.
My situation is: controlling a remote server from a LISTENING Viewer...I still have the file exchange feature working, can I download a kind of .ini file then upload it and overwrite it then reboot the machine?
Help this dumb man, please.

For the future: do I need to disable the local or remote keyb. and pointer?

Thanx

Hi,

I think a method would be to connect to either machine via IPC
(just try Network Neighborhood - right click - Search for Comupter)
Double click the remote computer and give the credentials (domain\username, password). Afterwards you are authenticated to the machine and may connect with the Win95-style regedit (REGEDIT.EXE) in the menu Registry\Connect to (or something similar).

Then go to the key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3\Default

on the remote machine and change the value for "LocalInputsDisabled" to 0 ... on the other hand you may just authenticate to the remote machine and stop the VNC service / kill the VNC process with either Anyway you will need a third machine with inputs enabled ;) ... just my 2 Eurocents
