Openning a session from Windows XP to Ubuntu Lucid Lynx

Post by Romanouche »

Hi,
I manage to connect from UltraVNC under Windows XP to an opened session on a remote Linux Lucid Lynx machine. I would like to be able to access the Linux machine even if a session is not active, and be able to access the login screen.
When i try to connect to the Linux machine when no session is openned, UltraVNC returns an error saying something like "Unable to connect to server".
I tried without closing my session under Linux but asking to switch to another user, so that it brings me back to the login screen without closing my session. When I try connecting from the windows machine, UltraVNC shows a black screen.
Anybody has any idea about what I should to do to make things work?
Regards
