Firefox window freeze using driver.

Post by Zhmak »

Using UltraVNC versions from 1.0.9.* to 1.1.9.* with driver enabled on WinXP SP3. Driver version 1.00.22.

Found that latest versions of Firefox won't redraw correctly.

I got proper view of Firefox after connection to VNC server. But uvnc won't redraw this window. I can switch tabs, open new links, but nothing changes on client side. Nothing, but window header.

Disabling uvnc dirver solve this problem, but causes high CPU load.

Possible, if firefox use hardware acceleration this bypass the mirror driver.
This way it's never displayed remote.

Workaround is
(right click desktop, display properties->advanced troubleshoot)
move slider to disable hardware acceleration.
Or
Don't use the mirror driver

The best way is: Firefox - Tools - Options - Advanced - General - "disable Hardware acceleration when available" checkbox.
