UltraVNC 1.x.x and OSX Lion 10.7

Post by Paccers »

Hey guys,

Did anyone ever have the problem (with a solution) whereby when connecting to the Mac machine the WiFi would drop out on the Mac?

My problem lies running UltraVNC (Win32) 1.0.9.6.1 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine and I am trying to connect to an iMac running OSX Lion 10.7.5. My Googling suggests there is a known problem for all VNC software trying to work with OSX Lion.

Essentially I can get to the password prompt and I put the correct password in. It says password accepted and then on the Mac the wireless connectivity will drop off. There is no problem when the Mac is connected using Ethernet. Occasionally after this drop-out there will be a VNC window open and I can see the grey login screen, I can move the mouse around but I cannot click on anything.

Checked the logs on the mac and the main error I seem to be getting is:

'kCGErrorIllegalArgument: CGSCopyDisplayUUID: Invalid display 0x00000000'.

Looking on general forums around the place some people suggest this is a problem with Windows machine having multiple monitors, others suggest it's a colour configuration in VNC program needing to be set to max.

Any ideas?

Cheers

It seems you are using the uVNC viewer to control a non-uVNC server. While this should work, I'd recommend a more standard flavor of VNC for the viewer as uVNC has a lot of custom features in it. I'm not sure who here can help much as UltraVNC is a Windows-only solution.
