Single window option..

Post by ruckb »

Hello,

I have searched the forum and played around .. but could not get the "single Window" function enabled ..
On my viewer I see the icon for Single window, if I click on it i do get the special cursor (circle with some center mark), where I would expect that I now can select a single window. but clicking anywehre in the transferred screen (e. g. on a Notepad application) nothing changes except that the cursor gets back to the usual tiny dot.

I tried also to edit the .ini file on my own and enter the window name, but also this did not change anything.
With this option I also have to admit, that I'm not sure where to get the single window name.
I have seen some threads saying that the window name is written inside the top boarder/frame of the window, but if there is Written "Document - WordPad" I would not assume this is the window name. and for some windows there is written nothing there at all, and i do have a time monitoring application that shows there the current time monitoring setting ..

maybe somebody can give me some feedback here too ..
BTW: reason for this is just to improve speed and responsitivity for slow connections ..

My system:
Win7 on Client and Server (as Service)
Ultra vnc v 1.2.0.1 on both sides
Mirror driver: seems not enabled (I have switched the option on on the server side, and a "Check the Mirror driver" says: Driver foudn, Driver version OK, Driver Not Activated, is the viewer current connected ? Is winvnc started with run as admin, no permission to start mirror driver?

thanks for all feedback ..

This option require a full review.
The last test are from a few years ago, it was to buggy and some code was removed to activate it.

If there is really need we can revive it..

Hello Rudi,

I would be really interessted, as I do have some applications I would like to use via VNC, but I need to improve the response times in order to realy use it .. and I would hope that reduction to a single window transfer could help here a lot ..

thanks and regards
