Setting up vncssld proxy

Post by danf »

I've been scouring these forums and the Internet in general, and have yet to come up with a working solution. It seems like I'm close, but there's just something missing.

The immediate goal is to have the "vncssld" daemon working: machines sit on our internal network, with ID's setup, awaiting connection. Someone outside connects to that daemon, on port 443, with said ID, and connects. There's an old repeater in place that works, on a machine that is destined to be decommissioned. Eventually, I'd like to be able to proxy the requests through Nginx. But that's down the road.

It seems the problem is with SSL. Whenever a connection is made, the SSL handshake with vncssld fails. There's very little to configure with that daemon, and I think ultimately the problem is that UltraVNC simply is not using SSL in the communication. And I cannot determine how to force it to do so.

Any help would be much appreciated.
