Setup >> Password issue

Post by k9cousin »

It seems that when you initially install/setup, there is a default password in the appropriate field. When I attempt to change it (not sure whether both fields should be the same) to match the password in my mobile device (I am using uvnc to enable barcode scanning on my cell phone > PC windows x64 using SCANPET bar, code scanner) the change does not take effect. Each time I try to do this, when I go to admin settings, the password defaults back to whatever was there during initial install. When I change the PW, i click Apply, then OK, attempt to connect with my phone but it fails saying, password does not match. Am I missing something here?
Also, the "Require MS-Logon" setting, what is this used for? Please help or suggest anything. Thanks

The inital password is random.

If password fail to save..
If uvnc is installed as service, use the uvnc_settings.exe tool to change te password.
full/ view only need to differ ( same folder as winvnc.exe)
Make sure the desktop user can write to the ultravnc.ini file to be able to save the settings.
(The service need to be able to impersonate the desktop user, this only works with local users.)

If you use this ultravnc.ini editor, the value's are only active after vnc restart.

On XP the "runas" popup ask to allow to save... default is NO access. [v]= no access
