Force "View Only" mode?

Post by thesun »

Hi, I am a longtime VNC user and usually use it just for myself, but recently have a need to offer other "viewing" options. But the question is whether there's a way to FORCE "View only" mode, as I do not want to make something where multiple people can affect change on the session. Can this be done? Basically I would like to let someone connect anytime they want and view as often as they wish, but ONLY as a viewer. Most VNC viewers seem to default to allow viewing AND actions, with the "view only" as a tickbox option. I want it to simply be _forced_ so that the viewer can only view, not click...allowing a window on the session but nothing else.

Also, is there a way to initiate a session where it only allows ONE viewing session at any given time -- meaning that if one connects in place A, leaves it open, and then 2 hours later connects in place B, the running view session in A will be automatically closed?

Thank you for any/all suggestions about this!!!

view only
1) server option [v]Disable viewer input
All connections are view only
2) view-only password: people who logon with this passwd can only view

multiple viewer is a viewer settings [v]shared session.
The problem is that it is a viewer option, so viewer site can allow shared or not.
If you connect with a non shared session, the other is disconnected.
You also can set some input timeout (server option) , 600 -> 10 minutes,
then the viewer disconnect after 10 minutes.

The problem is that
