Wich ports needed for viewer only using html
Wich ports needed for viewer only using html
Hello....
I will using the only viewer mode in a webbrowser. In my local network this is working fine. Behind a router with NAT-rule for the "html: port", I have entered in "Admin Properties", only the statusbar is visible, the screen fails. To locking the screen in a browser ist another port in NAT-rules entered?

The main and http port
default 5900 +5800
You can set the same port for main and http.

Server settings... are you using 1 or 2 ports.
Select ports and set 1 or 2 ports.
Default vnc use 2 ports
1)5800 to download java applet
2)5900 to load the rfb data via the java applet
In some cases you only want one port
Just put the same number for main (rfb) and http(java) in the server properties.

Re: Wich ports needed for viewer only using html
Then you need to forward the 2 ports, because the java viewer connect to the defined port 5900.
Re: Wich ports needed for viewer only using html
Yes, I do this so. Two port outside of the router 123456 to 5900 and 123457 to 5800 (excemple) translatet with NAT. The VNC-Port 5900 works fine, the html-Port 5800 shows only the statusbar.

Re: Wich ports needed for viewer only using html
I don't understand what you are trying todo
server on the internet, viewer internal after a nat router
You don't need to forward anything, your browser just connect to 5800 and 5900 to the server ip.
viewer on the internet, server behind a nat router
You need to forward 2 ports normal you forward port 5900/5800 to the server pc
Viewer connect to the ip of the natrouter with port 5800and 5900
(5800<forward->5800...)
If you want to use port 123456 you need to set port
main: 123456 and http: 123457 in the server properties
forward 123456 to 123456 and 123457 to 123457
The problem is that the server pass the required port to the java applet.(5900)
You download the applet over 123456 and this applet connect to serverip:5900

Re: Wich ports needed for viewer only using html
If it is a better unterstanding, if has paint the conect. The access in green color works fine, the red one only the statusbar.

Re: Wich ports needed for viewer only using html
The problem is
1) You browser connect to 12346 on ip 192.122.122.1 that is forwarded to 192.122.122.100:5800
2) Your browser download the java applet and he connect to 192.122.122.1:5900
The java applet get the used port from the vnc server, that 5900 not 12345
To make it work
vnc port 12345 192.122.122.100:12345<->12345
Now the java applet use port 12345 instead of 5900
There is no way the java applet can know the custom port you used to forward 5900

Re: Wich ports needed for viewer only using html
Second question: It is possible to set a time limit?
