Upgrade Windows 7->10 no multiple monitors

Post by scottgus1 »

My 4-monitor Windows 7 PC had UltraVNC 1.0.9.5 on it and showed all four monitors when I remote into it. After upgrading the OS to 10 I could not remote in so I uninstalled 1.0.9.5 and installed 1.2.1.1, thinking it was a compatibility issue.

Now I can only see my first monitor when I remote into the PC. The "Select Full Desktop/Switch Monitor" button in the viewer does nothing. Only the first monitor is displayed, no scroll bars, no sideways sliding to get to the other screens.

I have also tried versions 1.2.1.0 and 1.1.9.something, none of them allow viewing all four monitors.

Anything I can do? Thanks!

I put it on the todo list, it was tested on win8, and win8 multimon shoould be the same.

Greetings, Rudi!
I'm a long-time UltraVNC user, and am interested in keeping the "relationship" going.
Is there any log file or other such I could provide to see why I might not get all my monitors?
Or is there an obvious setting I'm not noticing?

I just discovered than another PC I have has two monitors and UltraVNC 1.1.9.1, and both monitors are showing when I remote in. So it sounds like it's my first PC that has the problem. Any ideas what I could do?

-Multi monitors on one card or 2 cards behave different.
-primary left/right

uvnc has all his config in the ultravnc.ini file.
You can try to copy the pc with good multimon ultravnc.ini to the other, just to exclude a config error.

Sorry for the delayed response! Switching ini files from a working multi-monitor PC worked, thanks!

I must have a glitch just on this PC, because when I try to edit other settings for Ultravnc it breaks the multi-monitor setting and drops back to one monitor again. But I have learned to cobble together an ini and set things as i want them, so I'm good on this PC. Such a glitch doesn't happen on any other PC I have or IT over, so I don't think it's a bug.

Thanks very much, Rudi, for your help! And thanks for UltraVNC!
