UltraVNC website appears to be compromised / malware

Post by willbprog129 »

Hello all,

I was attempting to download UltraVNC to test on Windows today, but your main website appears to be infected. I get a pop-over that says "disable your adblocker" and then when I do that, I'm taken to some fake virus alert page.

Thought I'd let you know.

It's not an infection, but an anti-adblocker. ( 10sec timeout when ad blocker is detected )
Uvnc is free for all usage thanks to advertisement on the website.

No idea were the fake virus allert page comes from, tested with "adblocker ultimate",

Thanks for your reply.

The site is okay now, but I suspect it was a bad ad your site was served that hijacked my browser. It happened twice. So maybe contact your ad providers and let them know one of your ads was infected.

Thanks! :-)

All ads are from Google, sometimes they let something pass, but usual it's faster blocked then reported.
We don't thrust any other ad provider.

Thanks Rudi. I'm sure they've sorted it by now. I used Firefox's 'Report Deceptive Site' when I was at the fake virus message page (which definitely was *not* on uvnc.com's domain). I also noted that I originally was trying to reach uvnc.com.

Thanks! :-)

I saw the same malware today, Dec. 24 2017. As the other poster noted it was some kind of popup with a different domain.
