New Repeater Install - Linux

Post by ahalls »

I used UVNC SingleClick years ago and loved it, but recently started using Teamviewer because of it's simplicity. I am now looking at a commercial deployment where I want to be able to do desktop support for multiple offices and will need to connect with them much like I could with Teamviewer, which just requires an ID number and password.

I have the repeater software configured on a linux server, used iptables to open the ports and am working on setting up my first connection, but not sure how based off the tutorials I am seeing. It would appear I need to use Mode 2, following this guide here: http://uvnc.com/docs/uvnc-repeater.html

I have the uvnc server running on my personal PC and right click to add client, my hostname is the repeater ip, the connection # is.... Ok, so now I see maybe I need to set up the client first, but wouldn't that need server installed on the other computer? I don't see any instructions on how to setup what the ID should be on the computer that I am going to control. I looked in the file "C:\Program Files\uvnc bvba\UltraVNC\ultravnc.ini" and don't see any settings to configure repeater URL / IP, password, ID or anything on what would be the host.

Does anyone have any extra tips on what I am missing?
