Installation error message

Post by duggyfresh »

Hi.

During installation, an error message appears whilst the setup window says "Configuring Windows firewall...". The error message reads:

--------------------------------------
Unable to execute file:
C:\Windows\system32\netsh

CreateProcess failed; code 193.
%1 is not a valid Win32 application.
--------------------------------------

Upon hitting OK, the message returns three more times (four in all) before the install appears to complete successfully. However, the machine does not respond to any attempts to contact it from a client on another machine. Running a client in listening mode on another machine and starting the connection that way works successfully. I can ping the machine from elsewhere and Windows Remote Desktop works, too.

Can anybody suggest a solution to this problem?

Thanks in advance,
Duggy.

netsh is used to add exceptions to the firewall to allow vnc to pass.
Looks like netsh fail, netsh is a windows command.

What happen if you type netsh in a cmd?

Workaround is to manual add the firewall exceptions for vnc
