some workstations doen not accept connection

Post by mfran2002 »

Hi there,
I installed 8 workstations as unattended access, encrypted (dsm plugin), port forwarding in the router, for every workstation the same setup

but 3 of them do no allow the connection: they ask for the password but then they reject, as it was the wrong pwd (but it is correct 100%)

no issue if I remove the dsm plugin: in that case I can connect

different operating system (1 has win10, 2 have win7)

have you some suggestion or some idea?

thanks
mick

All OS's should act the same.
You can configure the plugin to use a long password....

Try:
Copy the ultravnc.ini from a working system to the ultravnc folder of the non working and restart winvnc.

excellent Rudi De Vos!

your suggestion to copy .ini from another working workstation run!

except for only one workstation that gets me "response authentication failed"...

and I sware the password are the same!!!

I'm struggling with this last PC!!!

You can try

Copy winvnc + dsm plugin + ultravnc.ini on your local pc /tmp
Now try to connect to localhost
This makes it simpler to test.

The password is in the ini file, if you copy the ini you also copy the password.
Check if the dsm is ok, copy it from another pc ( make sure you don't install a 32 dsm on a 64 bit exe or invers)
