connect to listening client from command line

Post by kalleman »

hi!

Is it possible to connect ultraVNC server to a listening client using the command line?
I have been trying to use: "winvnc.exe -connect <ip>::80" to connect to my listen client started with "vncviewer.exe /listen 80", but that just gives me an error message.
If I run the server as normal by starting winvnc.exe and then right click on the tray icon and choose add client with <ip>::80, everything works fine.

am I missing something or is there another way to make the server connect to a listen client?

I'm using RC18 on Win XP/2000.

Connecting via command line (or via scheduled event)

Post by detonation »

I use the following to automatically begin a session from a remote machine that's behind a firewall/router. Works like a charm every day. I'm NOT using the java viewer, though- I use the standard viewer; which waits on my machine in listen mode.

"C:\Program Files\UltraVNC\winvnc.exe" -autoreconnect -connect ##.###.###.###::5500

Replace the ## with the IP address of the viewing machine. The quotes are due to the fact that it's a scheduled event. If you're just entering it, leave them out. If you're scheduling the connection within 'scheduled tasks' use the line exactly as-is.

Hope this helps.
