Export of sound: local machine to remote

Post by e-wan »

Probably an old/easy question but since Im new to VNC...when the "local" machine makes a beep is/can the sound be exported so that the beep is heard on the remote machine on which VNC is running i.e. on the "emulated" desktop within VNC ?

No, this is not supported with VNC.
This space not for rent.

It's possible to forward sounds remotely with Winamp+Iicecast 2, but it's not intended for beeps, just music. There's about a 10 second delay between the sound happening and the client playing it. It was intended for internet radio streaming.
