Cannot connect through HTTP

Post by ANR »

I succesfully installed the VNC Server using a wireless network and a broadband router.
Inside my wireless router I opened port 5800, 5900 and 5500 and also port 21 is open for FTP connections
When I use the internal IP numbers from my router to connect to my other PC there's no problem and the connection is made.
BUT if i want to connect through the internetbrowser by typing my IP number followed by :5900, there comes no connection and the same message appears in the browser window the the site I'm asking cannot be displayed
what is wrong here ?????

The ports are 5900 and 5800, and it stands on auto detect.
But even when I tell the server to use ports 5800 & 5900, it still won't work through the internetconnection and only makes a connection using the internal port numbers
Is there a specific option that has to be installed or selected ???

Did you set the right NAT (or virtual server) in your router. You don't only have to open the ports, you have to define if you connect to which IP it should redirected...

Yep, I specified the NAT as follows :

port nr 5900 and 5800 both TCP and UDP are forwarded to public port 5900 & 5800
