Can be connected through port forwarding?

Post by Jack »

Hi everyone,

How can I setup the server computer to connect to a new client computer which is in a different network without real IP? Can I make the connection by configuring the router in port forwarding to assign a port number to the client. If it is possible, which port number I need to forward to the client.

Thanks,

Jack

Hi Jack,

Has the server got a real ip address? If so then forward the default VNC port 5900 from the internet to it (5800 if you want to use the web version)

Then connect to the server from the client and the client ip address is irrelevant.

Apologies if I've misunderstood the question.

Cheers
