How to deploy via website!

Post by littlepaws »

How do I deploy PcHelpWarePc via my website for numerous clients?

I run a computer support company and want to remote access home-user computer.

At the moment I use logmein free but this requires me to be at the client computer to install the software to access them remotely.

a) I want access numerous clients computers one at a time.
b) I client to install or start the remote access service via my website with ease

Can this be done with PcHelpWare.

If so how?

I don't really understand the differents between direct and repeater?

Also once you have create the PcHelpWare_exe via the viewer, can numerous clients use it or do you need to create a new PcHelpWare.exe per client ?

Sorry for all the question! thanks in advance for any suggestions/solutions...

Not to sound arrogant or pretentious, but you run a computer support company? I guess it did sound arrogant and pretentious, but I just needed to get it out of my system. Now on to the goods...

The remote executable compiles with your server's IP# and misc information, so you don't need to setup PCHelpWare for multiple clients... just multiple servers.

As long as you are using either a static ip# or a redirect service (like DynDNS) for your server (the computer YOU will be on when offering support to your clients) you will be able to simply create one executable that connects to your server and distribute that on your website.

The executable can be uploaded to your web/ftp site and with a little web magic you can add a link to your site that points directly to the executable.

Then all you have to do is let your client know to select "Run" once he/she has clicked the link. After a short download the PCHelpWare.exe (or whatever you call it) will start automatically and once the client has clicked the "Connect" button, you should see there screen in a few seconds.

With a little scripting, you can make it seem more seamless.. but this should be fine for your business.

direct connection is like you have two computers. one that needs support and one that supports.the connection is directly.

repeater is like an gateway. the users that want support all loggs on to the repeater, and waits there untill a supporter logs on the repeater with the same userid and password.

not sure on the website question. however I made a php script last year that can dynamicly create connection settings of a package, so you could in theory, make a site witch the user sees a list of support personel, and clicks on the one he wants and then the package dynamicly created with the connection settings for that support personel. this is somewhat how my testsystem is working...

[topic=10986][/topic]

or you could create a site where the user creates a session in a php script, where each session dynamicly creates a userid and a password for that session. when the packages is presented to the user, and the user presses connect button, and waits for supportpersonel on the repeater, a email is shipped to the support emailadress, that a user is wanting support, and the userid and password for that support session is listed in the same email. then any availeble support personel could just enter that in the viewer and presto help the poor guy/woman with the problems.
