Putting pchelpware on a website

Post by mrrobertjohnson08 »

I've seen it and I know it can be done. I've been able to put the server on my website and get it to work. If I'm remoted into my webserver I can use the viewer and see the client who goes to my website and starts the server on there computer. I'd like to be able to have the viewer on the website also and run it from my computer. Does anybody have a how to on this?
Thanks
Bob

When you say ' I have the server on my website', do you mean you have the server so that it can be downloaded or have you created a java/activex server that can be embeded into the webpage.

As far as i know (i know you all will correct me if I am wrong) you cannot embed the server as it is an exe file. I would be interested if you do however, have a java version/activex version of the server and i think lots of others would be too.

 I only have it so that when a user clicks on the link to the server it downloads and runs. I was trying to do the same thing with the viewer. So I could be in another building and help somebody. I could go to the support website that I have created click on a link for the viewer and it would download and run on what ever desktop I'm working from that day.
I don't always have my laptop with me in each building I go to. So I would like to use the clients computer that I'm working on at the time for quick fixes. (Oh by the way all my work is in house for a school system I support)
Thanks

Just a note
When I click on my link to the viewer on my webpage I get the
Unable To Locate Componet
This application has failed to start because 1SCVDLL.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
Could anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong
Thanks

I have pchelpware on a memory stick, I just copied all the pchelpware folder over to a small memory stick (so it has all the components) and take that with me. I just open up the viewer gui as you would normally.

What I actually do is have the server setup on my desktop at home in the startup, and have the server autoconnet. It then just sits their and waits until i connect with the viewer on my memory stick.

poor mans 'gotomypc' but it works for me just fine.

Yeah I could do that and it would work okay for one computer. I have about 10 schools I support, miles away from each other. If a teacher is running the firewall I can't remote into the computer. Have you ever tried to talk a "teacher" into turning off a firewall? LOL! Anyway our county like to block everything that they can block. Such as gotomypc and other websites like that. SOOOOOOOO! I want to build my own "in house" gotomypc website. I couldn't use the USB flash drive.
Thanks for the ideal

I do this with single click now. generate the server program to suit your needs and use your laptop with a dynamic dns service or your main desktop as the server. Should work from behind the firewalls etc.

You might want to have a look at this

[topic=9909][/topic]

I have not had a good go at getting it to work for me with pchelpware servers, but you may be able to.

The only other thing you could try is to use a programme that will automatically setup port forwarding (like BAUPNP). I have it all on a memory stick and run it to open the ports so i can use the viewer from my memory stick and connect to my home computer via a repeater.

If someone is out there looking at this reply and has a working activex or java version of the viewer and server, then pretty please let us know.
