Display Query window

Post by Malzbier »

Hello Together,

i'm currently testing UltraVNC 1.0.4 (Build Aug 3., 2008),
It seems to be a good product with much more features than RealVNC.

However i'm missing the possibility to configure the feature "Display Query Window" in such a way that the server computer only displays the dialogue "Accept WinVNC Connection" when a user is logged on. RealVNC has such a feature ("Only prompt when there is a user logged on").

We often have administrative tasks on target machines which are only switched on with no user working on it. So the computer is in the log on screen with no user who could accept the connection.

Perhaps it is possible to implement this in the near future.

You can set a timeout (say 10 seconds) and with a default action of Accept (do it at the Admin Properties), so that the server will response to the connection request if there is no user working on it ... only 10 seconds later.

On the other hand, if the server is already operated by someone else, he can simply reject the connection request if he don't want to share the operation.

Hello YY,

thank you for your quick answer.

I thought of that too but we have very strict regulations concerning privacy protection of our users so that this possibility with the automatic acceptance won't come into consideration with us.

Fortunately this is not a criterion for exclusion because we also can connect to computers with no user logged on with RDP.

Perhaps you'll implement this in the future.
